Austin plays baseball because “It is something I have been doing all my life. I love the game and I love the competition.” His goal is to work hard and have a good season.
His favorite baseball memory is of “Pitching against Texas High my senior year and beating them.” The best baseball advice he’s been given is from his high school coach who told him: “Your favorite pitch to throw should be a strike.” His baseball heroes are Rangers’ first baseman Chris Davis and Giants’ pitcher Tim Lincecum. His favorite team is the Texas Rangers.
When not playing baseball, Austin enjoys going to the lake, fishing, hunting and hanging out with friends. His favorite music is Texas Country. His favorite TV show is “Family Guy” and favorite movie is “The Dark Knight.”
Austin is a Longview, Texas, native and a graduate of Pine Tree High School. His parents are Kevin and Kim. He has two brothers, Zach, 22, and Jake, 15. |
