Mark Your Calendars — Save the Dates!
The PSO welcomes all of our new and returning Baseball parents with a lunch so the coaches and the PSO can update everyone on the 2010 season. This is a get-acquainted program so spread the word for any new parents who may have missed our Fall Ball Inter-Squad World Series. Lunch will be served. Coaches will welcome parents to the 2010 season then turn the program over to the PSO Advisory Board, which will bring everyone up to date on our progress and our vision.
Our Jackets will face off against the first conference competitors, McMurry University. We have a 2 p.m. Friday game and a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon. The PSO goal for this series to is boost campus and community awareness of the baseball program. A team of PSO members is working to draw LeTu students to the games and to encourage area high schools and Little League programs to turn out to cheer our Jackets to victory. Full concessions will be operational on Saturday so bring your appetites! Anyone interested in assisting with concessions should email Mark Self. If you can help encourage campus and community involvement by making a few phone calls (or visits, if you're local), email Charles Johnson or Mario Ramos.
Pack up the SUV, the minivan or the sports car and let's head to University of Dallas for a tailgate party. This will be our second annual PSO Tailgate Party and Road Trip. Discussions also are underway for organizing a BUZZ Student Road Trip. The PSO is working to gain support from the university to allow us to plan a Saturday road trip for students to University of Dallas (closest Saturday away game). If we gained sponsorship/donations to cover the cost, we could charter a bus and provide food for the students. We could get some faculty and baseball parents to travel with them as sponsors. This is a long-shot event but could help us build enthusiasm for the baseball program on campus. If you are interested in helping or have ideas you'd like to share, please email Gary Brown.
