Joey plays baseball because “I love everything about the game. I love being on the field. Smelling the scent of freshly cut grass, painted foul lines, pine tar and the sweet scent of victory.” His goal for the season is “to be the centerfold of a playoff team and to extend my playing career to the next level.”
His favorite baseball memory “came last season when I hit three homeruns in one week.” His best baseball advice is “Hitting is tough. You are taking two round things and trying to make them square. It’s OK to fail 7 out of 10 times. If you do that, your hitting .300.” His favorite player is former Astro Craig Biggio and his favorite team is the Houston Astros.
He enjoys bowling, playing the drums and piano, and lifting weights. His favorite music is alternative and punk. His favorite band is Taking Back Sunday. His favorite TV show is “Family Guy” and favorite movie is “Remember the Titans.”
Joey is from Waller, Texas, and he graduated from Waller High School. His parents are Mario and Laurie. He has four siblings: Gabe, 30, Julian, 26, Deborah, 22, and Morgan, 5.
