Joshua plays baseball because “It is something I enjoy doing very much. I also want to keep my body in shape as long as I live.” His goal is to start as many games as possible.
His favorite baseball memory is from his high school playoffs last year: “We were down one game to none in the regional quarter finals against Hallsville. There were runners on second and third with two outs and we were down 1-0. I came up to bat with two outs and two strikes just after a 52-minute rain delay. The first pitch came and I hit a double to left field to put us ahead 2-1.” The best baseball advice is “It’s not all right to make a mistake. (But if you do,) you just have to get over it and do better next time. There’s no such thing as ‘I tried.’ You either do it or you don’t do it.” His baseball hero is slugger Hank Aaron and his favorite teams are the Houston Astros and the Boston Red Sox.
When not busy with baseball, Joshua enjoys sports and outdoor activities. He likes classic rock and hip-hop music. His favorite TV shows are “Two and a Half Men” and “That ‘70s Show.” His favorite movie is “Transformers.”
Joshua is from Henderson, Texas, and graduated from Henderson High School. His parents are Randy and Marina. He has a brother Daniel, 20, also a Jackets Baseball player.
