Nate plays baseball because “I enjoy the sport and the camaraderie.” His goal is to have a winning season.
Nate's favorite baseball memory is of hitting an RBI double in the 2008 California High School Baseball Playoffs “after riding the pine all year.” The best baseball advice he’s ever been given was from Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew after an impromptu batting practice: “Don’t let anybody tell you that you aren’t good enough.” His baseball hero is former Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis and his favorite team is Florida Marlins.
When not playing baseball, he enjoys the beach, ice hockey, sleeping, and eating his parents out of house and home. His favorite music artists are Shwayze and Kanye West. His favorite TV show is Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" and he also likes the "World's Most Interesting Man (Dos Equis)" commercials. His favorite movie is "The Lion King."
Nate is from Orange County, California, and graduated from Tesoro High School. His parents are Mark and Sandi. He has a sister, Amanda, 21.
