Zach plays baseball because “Baseball is my life. Without baseball I wouldn’t be able to live. It’s there for me through the good and the bad. I love to play baseball and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.” His goal for this season “is to earn a starting spot, to play the best that I can and see where that takes me. I’m here to play!”
His favorite baseball memory is “The excitement of hitting a grand slam and then after the game having a professional scout say that he is interested in me, asking me to fill out a player information sheet, and then turning around to see the expression on my dad’s face.” Another is getting knocked out playing baseball. The best baseball advice he’s ever been given is: “Play for the love of the game! I don’t let anyone take the fun out of the game. Respect the game and the game will respect you!” His hero is his father and his favorite team is the Boston Red Sox
Zach likes to play golf occasionally and to draw. He likes country music and “Ultimate Fighting Championship” and his favorite move is “The Sandlot.”
